Above are three massive westend theatre musical that have become so popular. They have all synergised into the film industry and been redistibuted new and modern versions. The musical greece came out long before the movie with Olivia Newton and John Travolta. The same thing with both hairspray and with Mama Mia.
The music in the film became globally known and so popular that to keep the music popular and to make it current and to bring it back to life each and everyone of the theatre musicals above used synergy with film companies to make modern versions of their musicals.
The musical Mama Mia uses all the songs by Abba, so when the movie came out with a new and more modern take on it, it made Abba millions as Mama Mia was extremely popular.
