Music video analysis

I think that Frank Ocean's video for Thinking About You is a good example of a well made music video.

The video tells the story of a doctor (Frank Ocean) telling his patient, the little boy, a made-up story to soothe him after his parent's were severely injured. The video cuts between these wild, magical-feeling shots (that are tinted with a grainy feel) and the shots in the hospital room.

The video is unusal and it took me viewing it more than once to understand the plot properly.

That being said, technically the video is very good. It has a range of very interestings shots, for example, this extreme close up:

The video also uses lot of movement (eg, pan shots and p.o.v shots) in the 'story telling' scenes to add to the fantasy theme.

Similiarly, in the scenes in the hospital room, to make the little boy seem more small and vulnerable, lots of long-shots are used.
