Carol Vernallis's theory on music videos involved an immense amount of edits that stood out as disjuncture. She believes that the editing seemed to have a rhythmic basis which was very closely connected to the song. Additionally, her observations also consisted of:
1. Continuity editing rules been broken to draw attention to the screen
2. Edits being made really obvious to draw attention to themselves such as wipes, special effects and jump cuts.
3. Base tracks being frequently used to give the video a structure
4. The camera moving in time with the music.
Below are examples of which I believe have an immense amount of edits and reiterate Carol Vernallis's theory:
Kanye West - All of the lights ft Rihanna & Kid Cudi
Dj Khaled - I Wish You Would / Cold ft Rick Ross & Kanye West
Beyonce - Countdown
