Functions of a Music Video

• It must have a message
• It must be creative
• It should reflect lyrics
• It must include good editing
• Editing is quicker than doing a thriller. Music videos edit on the beat.
• Must include lots of different camera shots
• Must be interesting and match the theme in terms of costume
• Video must reflect the atmosphere of the song. For example a summer tune would be set in an appropiate place, not in the snow.
• It should have a good storyline
• You expect the artist to be in it, but it does'nt always have to be like this.
• Promotes the music & artist
• Creates a brand
