This video was actually shot in the England, so I think they really made a good video despite she is an american based singer.
The storyline of the video shows a love-hate relationship between Rihanna(singer&main character) and her boyfriend. We see how in love they are with each other in the beginning, then to the middle of it all they begin to experience difficulties argue and it gets a bit physical. After having enough of it all she then decides to leave him. Throughout the video you can tell that drugs have a big influence on both of their behaviours. I thought this was portrayed throughout the video.
Looking back at the functions of a music video, this video:
- Reflected the lyrics
- It was interesting & matched the theme in terms of costume.
- Video reflected the atmosphere of the song
- It wasn't all that creative, I feel like the editing made it seem creative.
