Analysis of original video

The Home Run video follows the rules of disjuncture which, in this case, was more appropriate because the long is not based on the lyrics - it's more of a catchy, pop song.

The video is fairly simplistic having only been made up of six main basetracks: her silhouette against white background, her against black background, the dancers against the background that changes colour, closeup of Misha B, the booming speaker and the glow in the dark shots.  Inbetween it jump cuts to extreme close ups of her fingers clicking, her eyelashes or her mouth and when it gets to the chorus the number of edits increases with the tempo.

Apart from the occasional zoom, the camera mostly doesn't move. I think, in this case, that this looks good because there's already so much action going on in each shot that it isn't necessary for the camera to move. Additionally, the fact that the camera is in the same position in each shot makes the cuts between each different setting much more fluent.

I like the video because I think it is a good representation of Misha B; it successfully reaches her target audience (young, teen, urban) and gives a strong indication as to who Misha B is an artist.
